About Kevin

Mixed into this career journey are other jobs that have shaped how I show up as a therapist today. I served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Habitat for Humanity, leaving behind my known world and testing my skills in the wilds of Montana. I also worked as Transition House Staff at a therapeutic boarding school, supporting adolescents as they practiced new skills, navigated daily life, and prepared to bring those changes back home. Outside of work, some of my most formative experiences have come from time spent in wild places. For most of my 20s and 30s, it was normal for me to spend 70+ nights a year in a tent, wandering off-trail to quiet mountain lakes, exploring desert canyons, and cooking creative meals wherever I ended up pitching camp. These adventures keep me grounded in my own body and remind me why connection with nature, and with ourselves, matters so much.

Over time, I brought that same spirit into more traditional clinical settings. I interned at The Guidance Center in Arizona, leading therapy groups and working one-on-one with clients. I then joined Crossroads School, a residential day program for K–8 students working through significant emotional and behavioral challenges, and later served as an outpatient therapist in the Whitefish School District, supporting both elementary and high school students. In each of these roles, I focused on helping young people and families navigate big transitions, build nervous-system awareness, and move toward lives that feel more aligned with their values.

At Taproot Connection, I weave these two strands, nature-based work and clinical training, into an in-person experience that is grounded, relational, and practical. Whether we’re meeting in an office or incorporating the natural environment around Sedona, my goal is to offer a space where evidence-based therapy, metaphor, and real human connection come together. This is where my years in the field and in clinical settings meet: helping you feel seen, supported, and more connected to your own inner taproot as you move through whatever season you’re in.
